Always start with the ceiling, this will deter paint splashing to ruin other painted areas.
   
   
Then paint the cornices and walls next. Use a paint brush to paint difficult areas such as corners and edges first. The correct usage of the paint brush includes dipping only 1/3 of the brush bristle into the paint and long continuous strokes from the brush edge to form a neat line.

 

   
Then to paint large surface walls next. You may chose to use a wide brush or roller to do the job however roller gives the best finish and reduces the application time. Always apply the paint from the top right hand corner of the first wall in over-lapping strokes when painting from area to area.

 

   

Next to paint the wood work around the door, windows and the floor skirting that you still have not painted.

   
   

Wash all equipment immediately after completion. For emulsion paint, use water. For oil-based paint, use turpentine or thinner.

   
   

Wash and clean your hands and all equipment after completion. For emulsion paints just use water to clean, for oil base products use turpentine or thinner to clean.
